Must Have Handbags!

An addiction, maybe. Handbags...I can't live without them; different styles, colors, and sizes.  Nothing makes a good outfit like the perfect handbag to carry along beside you!  Whether it's for work, a girls day out, date night, a business trip, or just your every day bag, make it good!!  And being gorgeous doesn't mean it can not be functional too!  Here are few of my must-haves for any time of year.  But you will notice, there are a few bright colors perfect for spring...time to go shopping ladies!!

1. Vintage ~ I spotted this oversized leather clutch as a resale shop and instantly fell in love. The gold hardware, the dark leather, and slightly worn look; I had to have it!  Perfect for date night!

 

2. Luxury ~ Ok so maybe I have a thing with Louis Vuitton, but I also LOVE Michael Kors, Coach, Kate Spade (you will see that in a minute) and Chanel.  This LV was also found in a resale shop, definitely used, but man oh man, did I ever need it!  I actually prefer the used look because the handles are more worn and soft, this bag isn't large, but holds the essentials.  I actually have purchased both of my beloved LV's used, I love them!

 

3. Colorful Fun Clutches ~ You can't have too many, right?  I try not to spend too much on a bag that I may not feel I will have forever.  However, these will be fun to carry for a night out with the girls or on vacation. The first clutch is Mark Ashton, bright orange and beautiful! Clutch #2 is Rustic Cuff, small night-out clutch, as you can see, I like orange!  Clutch #3 is J. Crew and is just fabulous. I love all things Nautical, this bag is perfection.  Clutch #4, snakeskin, enough said!  And last but not least Clutch #5, I found this glittery gold clutch in a small boutique, it's just FUN!

 

 

4. Kate Spade ~ Robins Egg Blue, one word....Ahhhh-mazing!  This bag is the perfect color for spring and is large enough for whatever you need to carry!  This is the Sawyer Street Maxi Tote, get it people!  Photo courtesy of Tulip, Kansas City.

 

Wasabi ~ Prairie Fire

Sushi, a new found love. Thanks to friends, one in particular, that pushed me into trying it more than once!!  I never, ever thought I would be a sushi eater...don't get me wrong, I can't do all of the "very raw" rolls, but there are a few that I love!  Recently I tried out a new Kansas City sushi place called Wasabi. It is located in the new Prairie Fire district in Overland Park.  I must say, I was impressed.  Many options of sushi, great app's and good drink specials too! 

First, let's talk about the Happy Hour Special, which we just so happen to partake in!  Decided to order wine; Little Black Dress Moscato...let's be real, the name was the selling point!  It was on special for $6, and the glass was full, definitely worth it! It was amazing!! For an appetizer, we ordered none other than Edamame, a generous portion too. Enough for two people to share.  Highly recommend!  Most of the sushi specials were BOGO roll free, BONUS!!  Now to decide what two flavors to try!  So many choices to choose from on the menu, but we narrowed it down to two!

We decided on the the Washington Ave. ~ a California Roll, Mixed Crab, and Wasabi Mayo...ah-mazing!!  Our second pick was the Rasta...a bit out of my comfort zone but delicious!  The Rasta is Smoked Salmon, Mango, Jalapeno, and Avocado.  The taste of the smoked salmon was very good, a hint of spicy, but not too much! But come on, can you have too much spice? 

So my rating for Wasabi, an A!  I would go again for sure and if you love Sushi, give it a try!  By the way, Happy Hour is daily!! 

Valentines Day Gifts for your Kiddos!!

Valentines Day is just around the corner and what a great day to show your kids how much they mean to you with something extra special!  Yes, there are the traditional gifts; candy, candy, and did I say candy?  But let's think outside the box for today!  There are so many items you can give your kids that maybe aren't the "norm".  Don't worry, I have a cute idea that is edible too!

1. For the Girly Girl ~ How cute is this heart covered shirt? Ok, so this is my size, but wouldn't it be fun to have matching for you and your mini-me?  I can't wait to sport this for V-day and it doubles as a cute nightshirt too!  How about this adorable and fun "Hello" canvas bag?  Perfect for little's or big's!  It is perfect for sleepovers, school, and even just to pack for a car ride!  Bright pink sure does the trick for me!  Lastly, look at this cute little zipper case? Complete with a gold kiss!  I am using mine to carry fun colored pens in...but how cute for jewelry or makeup!  Fill it with chocolate kisses to make the perfect little gift! 3. I told you I would suggest something edible ~ Cupcakes and Cookies!!  Want to make them extra special, make them yourself, and get creative! These are a product of yours truly and they almost didn't make it out the door...just kidding! I love giving V-day cupcakes and heart-shaped cookies on a stick!  Everyone loves a nice sweet surprise, especially your kiddos!

5. Don't worry, I didn't leave the boys out!  And even though boys probably don't like all that sappy V-day stuff,  there are plenty of options.  Go for gift cards to their favorite place to eat - tuck them in a brown gift bag and use red tissue paper, purchase a cool new toy they have been eyeing, a new outfit (of course I would make sure the color red is involved), or make them a BIG heart shaped cookie with their name on it! It's a little more "manly" than cupcakes if you ask me!!

I Love Coaching!!!

Maybe you have heard of it...Beachbody!  First off, let me just say, it has changed my life!  I contemplated for 5 months about starting the 21 Day Fix...you may have seen may earlier blog posting with my results...but I did it, finally in December of 2014!  I loved it and within the 3rd week of doing MY challenge, I decided I wanted to help other people get in shape, become healthier, make a lifestyle change and have more energy!  I lost 4 pounds but for me and MOST importantly, I lost a total of 6 inches!
