21 Day Fix

Maybe you have heard of it, the 21 Day Fix through Beachbody!!  I had been tempted to try it back in the summer, but decided to hold off! After all, I felt I was in pretty good shape.  I work out, run, eat mostly healthy and stay at a healthy weight.  But something just kept pushing me to try it, so I joined the greatest Coach, Ruth, and started my journey on December 1st!  The first week was tough, working out every single day, changing my eating habits and having to prep meals for the days I work was different.  But it got easier, and I started seeing a difference within the first week.  My body was becoming more tone, I felt more energy, and it felt good to get that daily 30 minute workout in! Here is where I started!

 

I definitely did not start this program to lose weight, I wanted to tone.  Obviously with the eating habits changed some and working out more, I was going to lose some weight, but after two weeks have only lost 4 pounds and I am OK with that!!  But like I said, this program for me was to tone, not necessarily to lose pounds.  Let me be clear, people do lose weight and if that's what you want to do, this program will work!  It's amazing!! 

After week 1, I had lost 3 1/2 inches total!  The results were incredible and I was able to handle the working out and healthier eating! 

 What a change in only 1 week!!!







After week two, still seeing results! Down another 1 3/4 inches lost! A total of 5 1/4 inches lost in 2 weeks!  I am getting stronger and leaner! 

So here is my last pic showing the start on Dec. 1st through 2 weeks of training! 

 I couldn't be more happier! I feel more energy and I have learned to eat differently!  Don't get me wrong, I still crave certain foods and in moderation I can have them! This isn't a DIET people, it's a lifestyle change to stay healthy and fit!

Girl Silver

I have the pleasure of knowing the two amazing ladies and owners of Girl Silver located right here in Louisburg, Kansas!!  Gina and Desiree are the nicest gals and they make awesome handmade and custom jewelry!  I have been ordering from them for years now and every time I either wear a piece of theirs or give one as a gift, it is loved!!

Recently I attended a Girl Silver Party and was able to snap a few pics of their amazing jewelry!  Of course I couldn't get out of their without purchasing something for myself and also a gift for Christmas!

Aztec Cardi

You may have seen this cardigan on the infamous Emily Maynard...but as soon as I saw it, I had to have! The colors are fabulous, it's perfect for layering, and looks great with a pair of skinnies and boots!  The perfect Fall Piece to add to your collection!  I found mine on Groopdealz so I got it for a steal! I had to wait about 6 weeks before it arrives, but well worth the wait!  Just search Emily Maynard Cardigan and you can find it online at a number of places!

I paired it with a super cute Merci Beoucoup shirt from Forever 21, Black Stretch Pants from Kohls and Black boots from DSW!  Super comfy and perfect for running around for the day!  I also received so many compliments on it!  This piece does have the Aztec look which at first I was hesitant about, but I love it and this piece is definitely a keeper!  It better last a long time!!! 



 

 





Fuzzy's Taco Shop

Last week my sis and I were kind of in a hurry for lunch and we wanted to go somewhere quick...but good!  We happened upon Fuzzy's Taco Shop in South Overland Park and since neither of us had been there, we decided to give it a whirl!  After all, I am guessing we could both eat Mexican food for every meal!

This place had quite the atmosphere; you walk up to order and our "hostess" was super nice explaining the menu to us since we were first time visitors.  I opted for the taco plate that came with rice and beans...by the way, they have 3 different styles of beans to choose from and my sister ordered a large shredded chicken burrito covered in queso! And boy was it ever covered!  The food was delicious! 

For about $2, you can get a large drink which comes in a plastic cup to take home...score! And if you bring it back the next time you visit, the drinks are cheaper!  They also have beer...although I stuck with a fountain coke, this time :)

Prices are affordable and the portions are quite large!  To-go box please!

Take The Crown

Kansas City Royals!  It's all the talk right now with our Boys In Blue finally making it to the World Series after 29 years!  The city is blue, the people are wearing blue, and blue should be your new favorite color! 

I love the Royals, always have, always will!  Whether they are having a not-so-great season...or a WINNING season, I am hear to cheer them on!  I think Kansas City and even all of Kansas has been showing their support tremendously and it's so exciting to be a part of that!

As they head off to Cali, where there may be more of a sea of orange...but hopefully it's a sea of BLUE, here are some ways to keep the BLUE going!  Remember to post on Twitter, Instagram, or Facebook how you show your support!  We must #takethecrown!

Cocoa Dolce

Cocoa Dolce ~ chocolate heaven people! It's new to Overland Park and is now located at Prairie Fire off of 135th and Roe.  It is ahhh-mazing!  From the moment you walk and smell the heavenly chocolate, you won't want to leave! And you don't have too; the have this cute little area for sitting, relaxing, and enjoying your little piece of deliciousness...while you sip your cup of warm chocolatey hot cocoa or choose from a variety of teas or coffee.  If you are up for something cool, try one of their many flavors of gelato! 

A perfect go-to place for gifts too! Of course I noticed the chocolate-covered bacon instantly and although I didn't purchase any, I am hoping Santa puts some in my stocking...hint hint!  They also have doggie treats for all of you with furry babies! 

I have to say all of the decadent chocolates I have tried have been fabulous, but the champagne truffle and burnt caramel chocolate have definitely been put to the top of my list!  The chocolate ganache piece pictured has a speck of edible gold, rich and rich, but oh-so-good!  Why wouldn't I try the one with gold? Just call me #fancypants.  Of course I haven't tried them all, but I am working on it! 

Both of the drinks were to die for, but I like to call the one on the right "Christmas in a Cup". The smell and taste reminded me of Christmas morning, chai tea at it's finest!

They have one-of-a-kind items that are very affordable and will be sure to step up your fashion game!  I love calling Kelly when I see something I have to have because she makes sure to ship it out quickly, usually that day, which is nice for last minute events!  Everyone that works there is super nice and the best part is they get to know their customers!  That is small town shopping for you, #shoplocal!

Right now they have a variety of boots for fall, along with colored skinnies and cardi's.  Some of my most favorite items are posted below; the anchor dress is adorable and because I waited to buy this, I ended up only paying $5 from their sale rack...a steal!  This sparkly gold clutch will be perfect for a night out and I can't wait to carry it on my Vegas trip in November! The camo leggings are a big hit this season and I scored these along with the cute black and white top recently and both items were made in the USA!
