KC Fashion Week 2015

I can not get enough of KC Fashion Week! This was my second time attending and it is definitely going to be on my go-to list every single season! The amazing show is held at Union Station where it is transformed into the perfect runway for local designers and models, music and the fashion is to die for.  The looks for Spring 2016 were some of my favorites and because I love to support local businesses, I need to make more space in my closet soon!

Next Spring, VIP...although all of the seats are good, I am going for front row next season and I can hardly wait! It's already on my calendar, March 14th-20th, 2016!  I went with  Ashley, her first time at Fashion Week and of course ran into Jana, a friend and local Fashion Blogger.

Welcome to KC Fashion Week!

Vegas #duh #birthday #kcgirlsDOvegas

Vegas...that's all you have to say to know that when traveling there you are going to have a good time.  And that good ole' saying "what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas"...well, it's probably a good idea!  However, my recent stay did involve some very interesting happenings...a few that I never would have imagined so it's worth the chat!

I joined a birthday girls trip for my good friend Ash...I like to call her Sid, and we had a blast! Seven girls, 3 nights, 2 hotel suites, and a bunch of laughs and memories that will definitely never be forgotten.  We stayed at MGM Signature Suites, I have never stayed at MGM mainly because I do like to be more centrally located on the strip, but I must say, I will return.  The rooms were perfect, the pools were even better, and everyone there was very courteous...even on those late nights when you lose your key and your party and have to remember where you are staying...oops!  Hey, it happens!

The tower suites are separate from the main MGM hotel, but they are connected which is nice because you have access to all amenities...most importantly the main pool, one word, CABANA! All day, every day...I need one in my life!  1 Oak and Club XS...I am normally not a Vegas club kind of girl, but the dancing was fun, I would definitely recommend XS for sure.  Carnival Court is a must and if you know me, you know I go there every time I go to Vegas.

Tower Suite pool, Day #2, relaxing for sure!!

Carnival Court!!!

MGM Cabana Day! Rosie was our server, she was awesome! The lazy river did not disappoint! Plus, we met some pretty cool peeps!

Ready for 1 Oak Nighclub, yes we did meet Jason Derulo and hang with his crew!

Club XS, last night in Vegas!!

Shopping at the Forum Shops the last day! We had to visit MK of course, celebrate the birthday girl, and drink some champs! #newarmcandy

Next time you are in Vegas, check out the MGM Signature Suites and all of the above!!  I am ready to return in May for another Birthday Party!!!

Summit Fair Fashion Show w/ Jana Style

My experience with the Summit Fair Fashion Show was amazing. Working with Jana was so much fun, she is the sweetest person and made sure the show was a success, even with the rain that day!  The day started with hair and make-up done by Beauty Brands of Summit Fair in Lee's Summit, Missouri.  There is nothing like sitting in front of one of the large makeup mirrors, all lit up, pretending to be famous... :)  No but for real, I need these people in my life daily!  It was so relaxing to get all dolled up for the show! I had two looks for the day and Jana did awesome at picking out what I was going to wear!  Macy's provided the clothing and they were spot on!

Make up done by Michelle Adams of Beauty Brands of Lee's Summit at Summit Fair. She is awesome!  I am now addicted to Anastasia of Beverly Hills Beauty Express for Brows and Eyes!

Spring Break!

It's almost Spring Break and you know what that means....vacation time!!!  It seems that most people enjoy getting away on Spring Break ~ it usually means a week off from school and right before Summer!!  When I think of Spring Break, I think of beaches, sand, and sun...but also about mountains, snow, and downhill skiing!  Swimsuits and Snowsuits....I wish I could do both!  Here are few ideas to get away, whether it be for a week or just a few days!!

1. Gulf Shores, Alabama ~ Sandy toes and Salty hair.  I love this place!! We visited there a few years ago, and although it rained a few of the days, we still found plenty to do and had a great time!  The beaches are great, Orange Beach in particular, the food is amazing...fresh seafood right on the beach, and close by is an outlet mall that will make shop-o-holics jump up and down. I usually wouldn't do much shopping while on vaca, but again, it rained and we had fun strolling the shops that day!

2. Breckenridge, Colorado ~ Ski baby Ski.  There is something so freeing about making your way down a mountain, the cool air against your face, the ski poles in your hands and a warm cup of hot chocolate waiting for you at the bottom.  Skiing is something that anyone can learn, take a lesson or try snowboarding.  This quaint, cozy town of Breckenridge is sure to please.

3. Dallas, Texas ~ Where everything is bigger.  Texas has always been a favorite destination of mine.  Dallas has so much to do and it's just cool city!!  Take a short drive South to hit Austin, a very unique city with a lot of history.  Visit the Dallas Aquarium, its amazing or hit the Dallas Zoo.  Visit the Fort Worth Stock Yards and watch the daily cattle drive.  The food is very good, from hamburgers to steaks to Mexican flare, there are so many options!  A definite must try is Maple and Motor, it used to be a car garage but is now serving up some of the best hamburgers and was featured on Guy Fieri's Top Spots of Diner's, Drive-In's, and Dives.

4. Negril, Jamaica ~ Peaceful and Beautiful.  This vacation spot holds a special place in my heart. The  7 Mile Beach is gorgeous ~ white sand, clear blue water, and warm air. We stayed at an all-inclusive which I recommend because you will have everything you need, any time of the day.  We did venture off site to do a little local shopping and of course one must visit the famous Rick's Café, but if you choose not to leave your property, you won't regret with either.  A place for relaxation on Spring Break!

5. Virginia Beach, Virginia ~ History with a side of Beach.   Visit Jamestown, the first English Colony in America. Yorktown, where you can experience 300 years of history through Battlefields and 18th Century Homes or take a stroll on the riverwalk.  Norfolk is  home to the Chrysler Museum of Art, a Top 20 museum in the US. It features masterworks from every major civilization, historical period and 5000 years of culture.  Nauticus, the National Maritime Center is here too,  and features the USS Wisconsin, the world's largest battleship. Of course don't forget to visit Virginia Beach, with 38 miles of shoreline and the famous 3 mile boardwalk, you will want to make this stop!

Blueberry Hill

Blueberry Hill, if you haven't been, you must go!  A St. Louis Landmark located at the famous Delmar Loop! This place has been open for 40+ years and is a restaurant, bar, and music club. Their menu is extensive and their food is wonderful...did I mention they serve breakfast all day? Bonus!!! From Hamburgers and Salads to Sandwiches and Specialties, you will for sure find something to eat! They have a long list of beer, wine, and beverages to choose from...65 bottled beers and 18 draught taps that will surely wet your whistle!  You must check it out! Their walls are lined with pictures of famous people that visited the busy restaurant and the décor is sure to keep your eyes wandering.

They have their own blend of coffee that I as sure to try and it was very tasty!!  I highly recommend!

There were so many people that have visited this place but here were a few of my fav's...from old country, to astronauts, to modern day.  Of course I snapped a pic of Adam Lambert!!

So the next time you are passing through or visiting St. Louis, make a trip to Blueberry Hill.  Not only can you have a fantastic meal there, you can walk to shop lined streets of the Delmar Loop.
